What the heck kind of name is that for a soap? That’s a fair question. We’re nerds, and Cannabaceae is the Latin name for the plant family that contains both hemp and hops. That’s right. They’re related. You might be thinking: Is this marijuana soap? The answer is: Nope. Let’s dispel a myth: Cannabis and hemp are the same plant. ‘Cannabis’ is bred to get you high. ‘Hemp’ is not — it’s bred to make clothing, paper, building materials, medicine, and more. And hops? Well, they’re the secret behind every dank, bitter, citric IPA you love.
