As myth would have it, she was born of sea foam. Her name, Venus, quite literally means love. Goddess of all things that make women strong — beauty, fertility, grace — she hangs above us all as the morning star, guiding our way. Her sign, the rose, is as much a lesson as a symbol of love: The sensuous, enrapturing aroma that emanates from within a rose’s delicate bud seems to contradict the rigid, thorny stalk that upholds it. And yet, the two are inextricably one. In all beauty, paradox. In all fragility, strength.
